“Marieke's work reflects movement, freedom and space. Symbols of her rediscovered passion to create. No hidden message in her work, but the illusion that anything is possible, anything is allowed. It makes you happy and gives you energy. ” 

I was born in Leeuwarden, Friesland, which may explain the need to create space. My studio is part of The Hidden Artist Paradise on Vliegdenweg in Bussum. I am self-taught, formed by different teachers. 

Award: 2019 Award of Excellence from Trevisan International Art, Bologna
