Southern Magnolias

I saw these Southern Magnolias in Kentucky. I walked in under the tree and photographed these blossoms, and later drew them and painted in watercolor, using the traditional method of layering thin glazes of watercolor, building up to deep rich colors, next to the huge tinted white blooms. You are looking through the tree, and seeing the sunny limbs on the far side.  This heavy paper is deckle-edged and floats beautifully on top of the archival mat.
