The Old School

Bert visited this old school, which is now used as a center for artists, twice during the Kralingen-Crooswijk Art Route in 2015 and 2021. The old school is located at Lambertusstraat 104 in the Rotterdam district of Kralingen. The school building has 13 studios, which house artists from different disciplines.
This painting shows the corridor behind the front door of the building. Striking in this is the special tiled floor and the high ceiling. Bert has added a number of elements, such as the stairs on the right and the bicycle in the hallway.
