About Wietske Otter
Biography
My name is Wietske Otter, (1957) born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I live in Houten for many years now. As a child I used my father's camera. Later I bought my own camera, first analog, later digital. In 2013 I attended the Photography School at the Utrecht Centre of Arts in the Netherlands (UCK). I had different exhibitions in my hometown. I was a participant at the Artfair of Eindhoven in 2019. Of my series of “Beauty of Brokenness” I published a photobook with poems and photos of flowers at Blurb.com.
In 2014 I started taking lessons in Abstract painting. A few years long I took classes Abstract painting with visual artist, Rolina van Vliet. At this moment I am a self-taught artist. The German painter, Gerhard Richter, is one of my favourite inspirers. In 2018 I had an exhibition of my abstract paintings in the Marziart Gallery in Hamburg. In 2020/2021 I had two exhibitions of my abstract paintings at the NH Hotel in Maastricht in cooperation with BooArt Artmediation and an exhibition at a residential care center in Herkenbosch, the Netherlands.
My second photobook with poems and photos of my abstract paintings, which I have made in 2020, was a follow up. Also at Blurb.com
I am a member of the Netherlands Society of Visual Artists (NABK)
