In The Art Books, Sophie Dumont explores an imaginary library whose book spines seem to vibrate with emotions and memory. The intimate format of the canvas enhances this sensitive proximity, as if each book whispered a silent story to those who know how to look.
The soft and powdery hues – blue-gray, brick, ivory, sage – intertwine in a rhythmic composition, evoking both a collection of narratives and an abstract arrangement of shapes and textures. The material, generously applied with a knife, captures the light and reveals subtle, almost tactile nuances.
This work condenses the artist's universe: a meeting between memory and abstraction, structure and poetry. The Art Books is an invitation to glance through the silences of knowledge.
