About the work
The Written Absence is a striking work that plays with contrasts and empty spaces to express a subtle reflection on knowledge and absence. Through this oil on canvas of 100 x 100 cm, Sophie Dumont, recognized for her talent in manipulating material and color, immerses us in a world where books, symbols of knowledge and narratives, seem to be both present and absent.
The shelves filled with dark volumes are inhabited by deep shades of black, brown, and blue, creating a mysterious and almost intimate atmosphere.
