About Peter Hendrik Johan van der Linden
Peter van der Linden creates acrylic paintings on transparent, crystal-clear foil.
Because the paint is applied to the back, it must be painted in reverse and in reverse order. The foil thus initially serves as a carrier and ultimately also as a final varnish. Later, the whole is glued with epoxy resin and methylcellulose onto the final carrier of plywood.
When painting, brushes and airbrushes and various other techniques are used. Among other things, a natural painting method is applied in which elements receive their correct proportions thanks to laws of nature. Branches and grass are realized, for example, by blowing droplets of paint, where the drawn trails become thinner as the droplets become smaller. Often the droplets split, creating branches. You do not have the exact result in your own hands, but that makes it all the more enjoyable because the result corresponds to what is intended, namely to depict branches and grass that look like branches and grass. Paintings are often mistaken for photos, partly due to the glossy surface.
The panels are finally provided with a frame made of composite profiles with a core of alternately glued spruce wood and MDF and covered with matte black lacquered hardwood plywood. A round milled inner edge is covered with decorative foil. The whole looks sleek and stylish and is solidly assembled and finished.
