Peer Verrijt was born on June 4, 1959, in Nederweert but moved at the age of 1 to Geldrop in Brabant, where the painter grew up. At the age of 25, he came into contact with pencil and brush through an acquaintance and was soon captivated by the play of colors. Since 1995, Peer has worked as a freelance visual artist. He worked for a long time with the art dealer Niemann in Geleen, where much of his work was sold, and later also with gallery Oocker. Unfortunately, the art dealer Niemann closed its doors some time ago. Peer exhibited in the past with well-known names such as Henk Helmantel, Ans Markus, Juliën Landa, etc.

The painter currently lives and works in Langerak, Zuid-Holland.
