Pascale Taurua was born in New Caledonia in 1960 to a Polynesian father and a Caledonian mother. She grew up on both islands in the Pacific Ocean. She studied "the work of Gauguin" at the Conservatory of Arts in Papeete, Tahiti, where she set up her first exhibition. In 1986, she won the art competition organized by The Rotary Club in Noumea and that of 2008 in the city of Pau in France.
