About the work

This is one of a recent series of linocuts I have been making, which include text - either single words or short phrases, often political, often simply statements of facts or experiences around contemporary life.

This particular phrase and image come from the old Chinese saying that refers to the consequences of not committing to one path in life - often we end up empty-handed if we try to have everything.

To commit is to grieve the paths not taken….but to pursue one goal is to reap the rich rewards of commitment.

Here the protagonist is pulled apart by his attempts to capture both rabbits and is unlikely to catch either!

An important lesson!

This print is available in different coloured inks and paper.
