Andros Lighthouse
About the work
This is an image of the clash between the power of nature and the fragility of human hope. The lighthouse, standing on a rock in the middle of raging waters, looks like the last island of light in a harsh, merciless ocean. Its silhouette rises above the breaking waves, and although the sea is frozen in this moment, its energy is felt in every bend of the water, in every smoothed stone. This is a place where the storm has died down, but its echoes are still alive in every drop of water. The stones at the foot of the lighthouse are like frozen giants that have experienced the full fury of the elements. They are unshakable, but the sea continues to caress them with a dark certainty that in time even these strongholds will be destroyed. The lighthouse, like a pillar of hope, looks into the distance, its light through the fog and cold waters seems to say: "I am here, despite everything." This image contains a struggle - both with nature and with internal fears. The lighthouse in this photograph is not just a building, it is a symbol of how human will can withstand even the strongest storms, even for a moment, but still leave its light in this world.
