"Footprint"

"Footprint" This particular art sculpture is inspired by my walks along the north west coast of Donegal, Ireland. I often walk on the local Carrickfin or Gweedore beech observing and sometimes taking a photograph to remind me of the finer detail,as i begin to imagine or begin the process of creating a particular art work. "Footprint" is a reflection of marks imposed on the sand by people,animals,sea vegetation and the natural elements, the transient geological or archeological mark plays a vital part in my work. The footprint has wiped out the original marking of the reproduction, or translation so the spiral worm like marks no longer exist. Our natural enviroment is so fragile that it absorbs every mark like a sponge.
