Tangled

This is my watercolor of roots which were being studied in the Roots Lab at  the Morton Arboretum, Lisle, IL, US. I volunteered in the Herbarium in this building for 5 years, and enjoyed looking at the roots when I passed this department. I took photos of some, and later drew them, then painted, using fiery colors to represent the earth between them. The painting is on heavy deckled-edge watercolor paper, floating on the mat which extends around all 4 sides, giving a beautiful natural appearance. Framed in archival materials with safe plexiglass.
