Church at Auvers (After Van Gogh)
About the work
I loved seeing many structures in France! Houses, churches, public buildings, theaters, etc. I took many photos and in 2015 I used these photos as references for several paintings. These are acrylic on canvas, a modest size: 18 inches x 18 inches. In this “Church at Auvers” I am viewing the structure in Avers-sur-Oise from a different side than the well known painting done by Vincent Van Gogh, but you see the same tower, peaks and roof line, now not open to the road, but with a wall protecting it. in the small green triangle where the roads meet, is a pedestal with the bust of the artist, Charles Francois Daubigny who lived in Avers-sur-Oise his last 18 years, pride of the village. The cost of packing and shipping is included in the price here.
