Beauty In Death
About the work
Beauty in Death is a watercolor of the large dry curling Prairie Dock leaves in their late fall stage. I have superimposed a heavy white paper cut out of a beaver skull, also representing death. I find these realities in nature very graceful and beautiful. Colors in the painting, mat, and frame are mostly a deep reddish brown. In the upper left corner are Chinese characters, meaning “Beauty In Death”. The frame is a similar colored wood with gilt trim. the painting itself, on natural watercolor paper, is floating on the mat, giving a stark, earthy appearance. the painting itself is 12" x 23". The price will be reduced if sold in the U.S. Packing, shipping and tax is included in the price. This piece was exhibited at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, US. The price will be reduced is sold in the U.S., due to lower shipping costs. #fallart,#PrairieDock #Prairie #PrairiePlants
