MJ, Marie-Jeanne van de Velde (MJ), 15.10.1957 is a multidisciplinary professional contemporary Flemish artist from Ronse, Belgium. Arts and Crafts by MJ. instagram/bymjmad. Born with an artistic eye and a passion for painting, sculpting, and street art, she creates art under the name MJ. She attended art school in Ghent (Belgium). The work can be abstract or figurative. Miro and Mondrian are for her the 'liberation' in art. She often incorporates their work and gives it new life by integrating it into her own works. By mixing works with expressionism and the constructive, she brings a certain tension to her work.

Each work, on canvas or paper, is authentic and hand-signed.

Her career began as a professional painter in 1988, and in the meantime, she also became a gifted ceramicist. She always experiments with new materials and techniques.

Her works have been and are sold both domestically and internationally and in her own gallery in Ronse (B). Directly from their studio, the works are carefully packaged and insured shipped with DPD.
