Manon van den Hurk, born in Breda, raised in Tilburg, currently residing in Eindhoven. Education in painting and specialization at the Arendonk Academy. Member of the Kubra Foundation and N.A.B.K.

I mainly work in oil paint on canvas. My interest lies in the surfaces, shapes, and lines from which the world around us is constructed. By making these visible, figurative paintings emerge that work in a highly alienating manner. It is more important for me to evoke an atmosphere than to present a realistic image.
