Inspired and encouraged by people around her, she taught herself how to draw and paint, so her first painting is a realistic oil painting, a ballet shoe. After that she studied Crafts, Textile methods, Drawing and Painting. Because of this combination of different directions she has a broad interest and background, she has developed into a multidisciplinary artist.

Her current work currently consists of giving art lessons to children and adults and giving the same enthusiasm when she first made a painting. In addition, she works on commission such as portraits, abstract work but also small projects such as drawing a background décor for a revue.

She not only paints, but also likes to draw and illustrate with pencil, fineliners and pastel chalk. There is always a subject she wants to draw a picture of.

A project that Loes has been working on for a while is the formation of 3-d wire figures, a study of movement, shadow and light. Inspired by Wajang Golek and the artist Calder, East meet West.

Despite different disciplines, abstract work is now her preference.

The creation of her paintings has become a process that forms through, among other things, layering, removal, changing and/or adding.

In her current work, the colours green, blue and copper keep coming back. It is an interaction between her feeling, colors, material, contrast, shape, light and dark ratio or composition. She captures this interaction in her paintings.

Her source of inspiration is her environment, the people around her, nature and the city.
