About the work
This landscape painting is based on a stillframe taken from a short video made of massive Caterpillar dump trucks on site of one of the largest infrastuctural projects on the planet: the LNG plant of Wheatstone, Pilbara - North West Australia. Massive monsters finding their way through the Pilbara desert coastline, from apparently nowhere to nowhere. Day in day out, 24/7 all year long. Storm, rain, floods, 52 Celcius. Nothing keeps them from moving. I first made my underpainting in acrylic and Gesso. This to create a perfect, solid texture for the following layers. Then I started working on multiple layers of a combination of thick and thin traits of acrylic. Then finished with a slightly glossy varnish.
