Port of Antwerp - Terminal 1

The port of Antwerp. A massive industrial landscape where bulk carriers, cranes, trucks and trains run the show 24/7. A sometimes harsh, maybe ugly, desolate and empty land. But most of all surprisingly interesting for those who are willing to notice its beauty. First I made my underpainting in acrylic and Gesso. This to create a solid texture for the following layers. Then I started working on multiple layers of thick and thin traits of acrylic and oil, finished with a semi glossy varnish.
