About Jasenko Đorđević

Jasenko Đorđević is a Bosnian-born artist known for his unique miniature sculptures carved out of graphite pencils. He was born on June 9, 1983, in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From a young age, he expressed a deep interest in art, particularly miniature sculptures. Jasenko is a self-taught artist that began making sculptures out of pencils in January 2010. He was inspired by artist Dalton Ghetti, who is widely recognized as a pioneer in this unique art form.

Since then, Đorđević's artwork has been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Small is Beautiful project, where he has been one of the leading artists since 2021. The exhibitions have been shown in Paris (2021), London (2022), New York (2023), Brussels (2024) and Milan (2024). His artwork can be found in private collections all over the world, and since 2013, his work has been a permanent part of the exhibition at the Cumberland Pencil Museum in the UK.

In addition to his impressive exhibition record, Đorđević has won several awards, including the award for sculpture and the Grand Prix award at the 7th Biennale of Miniature Art in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also been involved in several projects, such as the Amnesty International – Letter Writing marathon and the Project Literacy in 2016. In 2019, he was a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.

With a growing list of achievements, Jasenko Đorđević continues to create awe-inspiring pencil sculptures that capture the imagination and inspire others to explore the possibilities of miniature art.
