As the second son of a family of nine children, I was born in Veldhoven in the south of the Netherlands and now live and work in the nearby Best. With a technical background, I started painting realistic paintings in 1983. As a self-taught artist, I learned the craft by looking at many paintings by old Dutch and Flemish masters and by connecting with contemporary painters. All my paintings are made in oil on panel. My work often includes everyday things, often including fruit. The composition I plan to paint in my studio is placed in a dark box under subtle lighting to create a clair-obscure atmosphere that I also strive for in my paintings. Still life with images of utensils and food such as bread and fruit. So lifelike, and actually no larger than in real life,

My paintings, exhibited in the Netherlands, have been displayed and sold in countries such as Belgium, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, New Zealand, Oman, Taiwan, and Qatar.
