About Inge Jongens
In addition to my work as a florist, lawyer, and mother of now 4 adult sons, painting was a welcome distraction in the past. For me, painting is primarily a pleasure for myself, but I am also proud that I have sold hundreds of paintings over the past thirty years that made people happy.
Now that I have stopped working, I have even more time to paint. I have enjoyed a long education at the Gooise Academy, the Wackers Academy, Ateliers Westerdok, and I also paint every week with Herman Tjepkema.
As for my work, sensory perception always remains my starting point, but the boundary is easily crossed.
I do not strive for the perfect picture, and that is why I find Leonard Cohen's statement so poignant: there is a crack in everything that’s how the light comes in.
