The Keeper of Knowledge.

Apparently you thought that this harmless kitten was the keeper? And just because he's sitting on a stack of books? And a book is a source of knowledge for us, no matter how you look at it. You can remain in your ignorance.
Or maybe I'm wrong and it's just the way you think it is? Fine, let it be so. And the real keeper, the stern and intimidating one, just stepped out for a minute.
I like that interpretation, too.
I like that you have an imagination and you have a reason to use it. That you didn't think, looking at that painting, that's great. It's great that it made you think of something when you read it.
Maybe it will excite you more than I dreamed it would. 
Or maybe you will glance indifferently and the kitten will leave no trace in your memory.
Either way, the painting is finished, and only you can judge whether or not it succeeded.
