Henk van den Boogaard, born in 1950, works with a wide range of techniques and materials. He paints on paper, cardboard, canvas, or panel and works thematically and in series (seascapes, landscapes, or architecture).

He studied at the School for Graphic Arts in Utrecht and followed the training in Communication, Management, and Media Design there. Besides his graphic media company, he was active in the art world with PromArt Gallery and as a publisher of high-quality rasterless art productions (art prints). From that background, he was always in close contact with many artists from whom he taught himself the basics of painting as an autodidact and later further developed himself.

Currently, he organizes the successful annual Masterclasses painting 'The Zeeland Light' on the beach of Domburg.

His paintings are now mainly found in private ownership.
