About Henk Adriani
Henk Adriani (Amsterdam, 1952) began studying photography at the Fotovakschool and started working in practice at Satina in Amsterdam.
Since 1974, he has been established as a freelance photographer. In the following years, Henk began to create various forms of visual art in which photographic technique played a major role. From 1986, Henk focused on a different approach to the phenomenon of image using painting techniques. In this working method, he found a greater challenge to express his inspiration in a much looser, more spontaneous, and livelier way.
In recent works, including oil paint, acrylic paint, gouache, watercolor, and combined techniques, feelings of emotional expression are reflected more strongly than is possible with photographic techniques. It can rightly be said, "I paint where photography ends."
