About the work

The photo shows the installation art ‘Tears for Everybody Looking at You’ (1997) by Damien Hirst.  One of his recurring themes is the interaction among viewers on the notion of comfort zone – represented here by the glass case.  There is another comfort zone most of us are used to and is defined by the curtain wall of the gallery, allowing well-tempered climate within.  Like the wooden ducks and with instinctive empathy, we are feeling great.
