About the work

Despite only having the imposing drum dome and turrets being visible behind the Longenhaus, the presence of the Neue Synagoge was easily felt north of River Spree, Berlin.  With rubbles from a construction site in the foreground, the image evokes the spirit of classical ruins romanticism, characteristic of the 19th century Sublime movement.

This picture was taken in Berlin, Germany.
