Vanessa was born in Wageningen and lived in Bramsche (Germany) from her 2nd to 11th year of life. After that, the family moved to Dieren (Gelderland). She stayed there until she was 18, after which she moved to Arnhem for her studies at the Art Academy (Artez). Until recently, she lived all that time in Arnhem and since 2022, the artist has moved to the north of the Netherlands.

Vanessa has been painting her whole life, with a preference for realistic landscapes and representations. Here she then gives her own unique twist through striking colors and compositions, creating an almost unreal, unrealistic effect.

Her work is clearly recognizable by the bright color palette that has remained over the years. The representations are very varied and generally realistic. The paintings emerge from a certain feeling and grow layer by layer to the final result. The medium she prefers is oil paint, due to the possibilities that are achievable in it and the effect of light that falls on it, making the painting seem to come alive.

Vanessa paints under the name Ness, where her website can be found under the name Creative-Ness. The combination of the meaning and her name was a nice find in her eyes.

She has sold various works to different private individuals and has participated in several exhibitions over the years. In her current place of residence, she has joined the local art association, allowing her to participate in the annual art route.
