About Christiane Guerry
Presentation text of Christiane Guerry
Born in Grenoble in an artistic environment, Christiane Guerry grew up under the influence of her father, an Italian tenor who profoundly shaped her pictorial universe. Despite the labels and teasing of her childhood as a "wop's daughter," Christiane revealed her early talent for drawing, handling pencil and paint from the age of six.
After collaborating for two years with Mercedes Henry in Grenoble, who affectionately nicknamed her "the painter of colors," Christiane took flight, guided by the wise advice of her mentor. By 1970, she began exhibiting her works, both in France and abroad, and in 1988, she settled in Nice, where she consolidated her artistic reputation.
Throughout her career, Christiane has accumulated numerous awards and distinctions and has been the subject of multiple articles in the specialized press. Her works have been presented at many collective and solo exhibitions, including the SHARJAH Museum in 2005, as well as the Gemluc in Monaco, which even preempted two of her works.
Her favorite artists, including Turner, Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, and Louise Bourgeois, have greatly influenced her artistic creation. Christiane's work is inspired by her life, her visions, and her deep emotions, which she transposes onto canvas and in her sculptures to tell a story, her own story, which she shares with her collectors.
Christiane knows no respite in her artistic creation. She works diligently every day, whether in the daylight or in the heart of the night. She welcomes criticism, both positive and negative, with a certain anxiety, but they also constitute an invaluable source of inspiration for her.
Her artistic work is deeply personal, escaping any artistic movement, and draws its substance from her personal experiences. Through her sculptures, she uses mixed media, incorporating recycled materials, with the aim of raising awareness of the need to protect our planet.
Christiane's physical body is her creative tool, dedicated to art. Her happiness lies in waking up every morning to paint and sculpt, thus expressing her unquenchable passion for artistic creation. She aspires to leave a lasting mark on the art world and describes herself in three words: informal, timeless, obsessive.

Christiane has been exhibiting in France and abroad since 1968! Christiane's creativity is hyper-productive! She wakes up happy to get back to her creations, and never puts off until tomorrow what she can do the same day! As a child, her tenor father would practice his scales every morning to place his voice, and the artist was brought up in this rigor, which has become a Joy, being able to "work" every day that comes! Always working harder and faster to catch up with the passing of time, too fast ... To remain active, to do nothing is to die ... Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
