Paper worlds by Zim and Zou
Zim and Zou, a duo based in Dordogne, France, create installations entirely by hand using tactile materials like paper, wood, and thread. Having studied graphic design, they made a deliberate choice to step away from computers and embrace handcrafted work instead. Paper is their primary medium—they're drawn to its versatility, color range, and texture—which they transform through drawing, cutting, and assembling into intricate, colorful sculptures. Their work spans abstract forms and recognizable subjects, from delicate florals to minimal landscapes, often exploring themes of internal worlds and transformation with a contemplative quality that invites quiet reflection.
