“Cairn: Gold Apex” explores the notion of balance as an unstable state, shaped by singular forms, tensions, and constant adjustments. Each element retains its own irregularities and presence while contributing to a shared structure. Balance is not presented as a fixed condition, but as the result of an ongoing negotiation between weight, fragility, and interdependence. Papier-mâché blurs our perception of materiality: it evokes the density of stone while simultaneously asserting its lightness. Flecks of gold emerge through the material like precious fragments, gradually leading towards the stone that crowns the composition. At the summit, gold becomes light. Not as the promise of perfect balance, but as the trace of a rare moment — one in which, despite differences, tensions, and uncertainties, finally finds its place.
