Magosja Turkawski

17 August 2026

Magosja Turkawski studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and trained at art schools in Enschede and London before spending years as a designer and art director for Dutch lifestyle magazines. Since 2015, she has dedicated herself fully to painting, drawing inspiration from Helen Frankenthaler's soak-stain technique, where heavily diluted paint flows across canvas like water. Working from her studio in Muiderberg, Magosja creates both portraits and abstract paintings that explore color, form, and emotion. Her work moves between the representational and the expressive, inviting viewers into landscapes and moods that feel both intimate and boundless.
