Born in New Zealand, Peter lives and works in Florence, Italy, where he moved over 30 years ago for the love of Renaissance art.

He frequented art school but really learned painting by frequenting the studio of a Dutch painter, and by intense study and constant practice, well before becoming a professional painter.

In Florence, he learned the craft of the "maestri copisti " who specialized in the reproduction of old masters using traditional techniques. He also learned the use of gold leaf, which he used for the decoration of frames and in his work.

He has exhibited in private galleries  in Tuscany, Venice and France during the 90s, then from 2006 and 2016 had his own atelier in Central Florence where he painted and sold his works to collectors. In 2016 he turned the studio into a small unique gallery called the arts inn where he shows the work of guests artists as well as his own.

His paintings have sold through the years to a vast number of international collectors.
