Over Caroline Chopin

An artist of the whole and full forms, the sculptor works first and foremost in clay, plaster then porcelain stoneware and finally porcelain, thus moving from the harshness of one material to the delicacy of another.

Each medium gives birth to a different expression expresses with the same material a period of letting go where organic forms mingle in a tumultuous flow.

Caroline Chopin shapes spontaneously, without preparatory work, it is her gestures, contact with the earth, the instinctive movement that brings her towards creation, then the forms overlap, volumes emerge and the harmonization of forms. leads to the birth of the work.

Both real and imaginary, imprints of finesse or robustness, revealing curves or edges, smooth or rough, slender or massive, Caroline Chopin's creations are the fruit of the reflection and questioning of an artist who seeks always reaching the depth of beings or things and who questions them.
