I was born in 1964 as a farmers daughter in Oudorp / Alkmaar in the north of Holland.

Graduated at the Royal Acadamy of Arts in The Hague in 1987

At the moment i live and work in Leimuiden, a small village near Amsterdam.

My work can be described as Mystic-realistic, sometimes symbolic. I prefer something to imagine by the audience. This I try to achieve not only by the choice of material but also in the way I am working.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration, everything what grows and flourishes.

My subjects are mostly animals or people. I like to paint layer over layer, often with transparent layers. Because of this layering I am trying to create an certain aging process and secrecy.
