Léonne Zuurbier

12 August 2026

Léonne Zuurbier grew up in the dunes and waterways of North Holland, and those landscapes still shape her work today. Working across painting, stenciling, and works on paper in pastel and charcoal, she creates expressionist pieces that blend the everyday with the dreamlike. Her subjects—storms, animals, rivers, and quiet village scenes—take on an unsettling, unfamiliar quality, as if seen through the logic of sleep rather than daylight. Based now in Wieringerwaard, Zuurbier continues to push her practice forward, regularly showing at exhibitions and art markets while exploring new directions in her work.
