Léonne Zuurbier

Léonne Zuurbier was born in IJmuiden and grew up in Castricum, near the North Holland dune reserve. She now lives in Wieringerwaard, in the middle of the Waardpolder.

While attending art academy, she focused on painting and stenciling after initially practicing various disciplines. Her work has been displayed at exhibitions and art markets. She works on paper in pastel and charcoal.

Her paintings and drawings are influenced by her daily dreams, creating a sense of alienation in her landscapes and animal subjects. Beyond her own practice, she teaches in her studio and conducts plein-air sessions in the polder.
