Anna Gadzalinska
Anna Gadzalinska arrived in the Netherlands in 2014 and discovered the landscapes and skies she had imagined since childhood were real. Born in Poland in 1982, she felt drawn to art from an early age, but life led her down a different path—she became a hairdresser instead of attending art academy, setting aside her lifelong dream. In recent years, she has returned to painting with renewed purpose. Her work moves between portraiture and landscape, layering paint thickly across canvas to explore faces, figures, flowers, and the natural world around her home in Zwaag. There is something dreamlike in how she brings these subjects together, blending the personal with the botanical, creating scenes that feel both intimate and otherworldly.
