The title is, of course, a tilt of the hat to Magritte and his famouse painting “Ceci n'est pas un chapeau”. Magritte was pointing out the difference between a hat and a painting of a hat. Lyons takes one step further, to stress the textures and colours between four straight lines are not the landscape our brains invent for us.
