Fantastisch nieuws uit Zwitserland! van de Stiftsbibliothek St.Gallen. De onderhandelingen waren zeer positief en het resultaat is dat ik nu op 26 maart 2021 de shoot mag doen! Deze UNESCO Werelderfgoed abdijbibliotheek van St. Gall is een van de oudste en mooiste ter wereld. In 1983 werden de St. Galler abdijkerk, de abdijbibliotheek (‘Stiftsbibliothek’) en de bijbehorende kloostergebouwen, kortweg aangeduid als het ‘St. Galler Stiftsbezirk’, uitgeroepen tot ‘UNESCO Werelderfgoed’. Het rijkversierde barokke complex, dat tot ver buiten de grenzen van Zwitserland bekendheid geniet, kent zijn oorsprong in een kleine nederzetting die de monnik Gallus in 612 stichtte in “de groene wildernis tussen Bodensee en Säntis”.
