Mark Aspinall: Curiosity and Color
Mark Aspinall grew up in Derbyshire surrounded by hills, always wondering what lay beyond them—a curiosity that has shaped his artistic practice ever since. Raised by artist parents in northern England and trained at Manchester Polytechnic, the London College of Printing, and the Royal College of Art, Aspinall has spent decades moving between studios in Italy and Norway while maintaining his connection to England, where he taught and exhibited his work. Now settled in Crotone, Italy, his practice draws on a lifetime of careful observation and a restless interest in landscape and light. His work invites us into intimate, layered spaces where color and form speak to both the seen world and the mysteries that lie beyond it.
