My name is Marianne Constance, and I work across painting, photography, and film. I’ve always been drawn to the power of imagery to hold emotion, especially in those moments where nothing seems to be happening, but everything is quietly unfolding beneath the surface.

In my practice, I create cinematic compositions that often feel still, even frozen in time. There’s a kind of uneasy quiet that I’m interested in; In-between moments that suggest something is about to happen, or has just happened. I’m fascinated by how these suspended scenes can tell stories without words, how they can make us feel something we can’t quite explain.

I try to build worlds that feel familiar, yet unsettling. I want my work to raise questions rather than offer answers. This to invite reflection, and maybe to reveal emotions or memories. My goal isn’t to guide the viewer to one conclusion, but to create a space where multiple interpretations and personal responses can exist.
