Bliss in Nature
Over het werk
A visual poetry , a collage work based on William Wordsworth poem on Daffodils- i wandered lonely as a cloud!. The painting engages with themes of nature, memory, and spirituality. These three are tied together as the painting moves through a beautiful landscape. One can take pleasure in the sight of the daffodils, the sunset, the sky and the clouds and revive your spirit in nature.
The inward eye “ our memories” bring us bliss whenever we recall them. Beautiful memories of nature cheer us in later times through the power of imagination.
I wandered lonely like a cloud- By William Wordsworth - excerpts:
I wandered lonely like a cloud,
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the wind..........
For oft when on my coach I lie ,
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye,
Which is a bliss of solitude
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils!!
