Floodland

This work is based on a picture made in Port Hedland - Pilbara, North West Australia. It shows boats on floodland near the Indian Ocean coastline during low tide, acompanied with a sole lamp post in a desolate landscape of sand and mud under the intense Australian sun during hurricane season. I first made my underpainting in acrylic and Gesso. This to create a perfect, solid texture for the following layers. Then I started working on multiple layers of a combination of thick and thin traits of acrylic. Then finished with a slightly glossy varnish.
