Over Inez Froehlich

Inez Froehlich was born in Reichenbach in the Vogtland region and grew up in a family with a strong affinity for art, which sparked her early interest in creative pursuits. After graduating from the Technical University of Chemnitz, she initially worked in the private sector, using painting and photography as a creative outlet. In 2003, she decided to fully embrace her artistic passion, leaving her technical career behind to focus on becoming a professional artist.

In the early stages of her artistic journey, regional exhibitions and interactions with other artists provided valuable feedback and opportunities to explore various styles, materials, and techniques. This period of experimentation helped her define her unique style. Participation in major international digital art platforms also expanded her reach, allowing her work to be appreciated by art lovers and collectors worldwide.

Today, Froehlich primarily creates large-format, abstract acrylic paintings characterized by textured surfaces. Her work explores the interplay between color and texture, evoking contrasts between seeing and feeling, and the processes of emergence and decay. She draws inspiration from natural surfaces, structures, and man-made environments that bear the marks of time, celebrating the beauty of impermanence.

Her detailed and multi-layered artworks invite viewers to discover new elements with each viewing, offering a dynamic experience that blends impression and expression, spontaneity and permanence. Froehlich uses a variety of materials, including canvases, brushes, palette knives, impasto paints, glazes, ink, chalk, marble powder, sand, and fabric. Through a process of layering, altering, and reworking, she creates atmospheric images that are both distinctive and unpredictable in their final form.
