Henriette Barety (1934-2017), painter from Nice, companion of the painter Sylvain Vigny and friend of the painter Bernard Damiano. All of his work tells his personal and family history. Just as Sylvain Vigny his companion, is often present in his drawings or paintings as well as his daughter Sylvie. Much of her work is done in gouache, but she also favors charcoal for B/W works and oil pastel and oil on canvas. Each painting or drawing is a moment of his life, a rediscovered moment, an emotion lying on Vélin d'Arches or canvas. The fact that a Chagall museum is present in Nice may have something to do with his way of painting or drawing. Surprisingly, his works remind us of Chagall for the line and the expression and Cocteau for the ambient mysticism. Moreover, his pictorial style is close to that of Vigny.
