What a wonderful thing that would be

"What a wonderful thing that would be" watercolor on 140 lb paper 11" x 15".
I got inspired to paint this artwork after reading Michaela's poem.
This is the original painting I used for my book "My sad is sadder than yours". It illustrated this poem :
What a wonderful thing that would be

if I lay down in a field of flowers
will their color deep into me?
the red, the yellow, the lavender

will they enter my skin, my veins
and pump a colorful rainbow
into the darkest pit inside of me?

and if so, will that rainbow, like a flashlight,
shine from within my eyes and show me a way?
a way out of this darkness, this place,
this mind, this body, this cage?
what a wonderful thing that would be.
