Frans van den Berg: Oil and observation
Frans van den Berg has been painting full-time for more than five years, building on hundreds of watercolors created outdoors over a lifetime. Now fully committed to oil, he's watching his work shift and sharpen, finding increasingly more structure and speed in his approach. Based in Puttershoek, Netherlands, and a member of NABK, van den Berg moves between portraits and landscapes with equal attention, working with the kind of ambition that only deepens when an artist finally has space to focus entirely on their craft. His recent work shows the results of that concentration—paintings that feel both immediate and considered.
