What happens when someone buys

From order to payout, step by step.

Noting a sale takes a minute and saves you a week of e-mails from people asking about a work that is already gone.

Recording it

  1. Open Sales and click I sold something.
  2. Pick the work under Which work?. Sold something that is not on your page? Choose — something not on my page — and describe it under What was it?.
  3. If the work is an edition, pick which one went. The rest stays for sale.
  4. Fill in the Buyer's name and their e-mail, and What they paid.
  5. Under How does it get there? note whether you are posting it or they are collecting.
  6. Save the sale.

The work is marked sold and moves out of what is for sale.

Why the buyer's e-mail matters

With an e-mail address your buyer gets a page of their own where they can follow the work: that it is being packed, that it is on its way, and the tracking number when there is one. Without it they get nothing and they will write to you instead.

Posting it

Once the sale is saved you can add a Tracking number and pick the Carrier, then click Send to buyer. They get it straight away. What your buyer sees shows you exactly the page they are looking at.

Collected in person? Mark it as collected and you are done.
